Wisconsin is where I was born and raised. I learned a few things about the outdoors, respecting people, and how to put in a good day’s work. I grew up a small town kid with dreams of one day having my own business.
In the summer of 2007, I started working for Mason Companies, Inc in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. I was a brand manager working on mail selection, segmentation, budgeting, and various research projects.
At the same time I worked on a hunting website I called HunterShare.com. I thought it would be the next big thing in the online hunting world. The site never hit the big time, but I learned a ton of lessons and I became more involved in blogging and online marketing.
And that’s where I am today…
Ghost Blog Writers
Ghost Blog Writers provides blog posts for business and corporate blogs. The mission of Ghost Blog Writers is to provide well-researched posts on time every time with the goal of driving traffic, leads, and sales.
Ghost Blog Writers was founded in 2010 and has been growing since with clients in varius industries. I’m the founder of the company and one of the writers.
Country Music Life
Country Music Life launched in the spring of 2010. The goal of the site was to provide some commentary on the new songs, albums, and videos in the country world. The site also includes ‘best of’ lists.
The site has really been more of a success than I had ever thought. It took about 15 months to reach 1 million page views in total. I’m excited about where the site is going. Each month the traffic continues to increase. I think the fans and the community at CML are what’s really special. People love country music and I enjoy sharing my own passion for country songs with them all.
Mason Companies Inc.
In the summer of 2007 Mason Companies, Inc. hired me as a Catalog Manager. I’m part of the Marketing Department and am more of a brand manager as the catalog manager works with all areas of the catalog development. Tasks include working with web designers for direction on online marketing.
Starting in 2011, I slowly moved over to the Internet Department and started working on SEO and Social Media projects. In late 2010, Mason Companies, Inc. started their first general merchandise business, Stoneberry (www.stoneberry.com). Up until this point Mason Companies, Inc. had been manufacturing and selling footwear for over 100 years. There were also ventures into the apparel market.
As part of the Stoneberry project I was able to be part of a few early research teams. I also worked on developing SEO and Social Media strategies for Stoneberry as well as for a few other of Mason Companies, Inc.’s ventures.
After five years I left Mason to focus entirely on Ghost Blog Writers. Mason was a great place to work and I wouldn't trade those five years for anything.
Outside of blogging and marketing there are a few things I enjoy in my personal time. I’m a big country music fan (see: Country Music Life). I also enjoy golfing in the summertime in Wisconsin. I enjoy hunting whitetail deer in the cool autumn days. When I’m not near my computer I’m usually hitting a few putts in the living room, chipping in the backyard, or out in the woods scouting a new piece of property for another bow hunting season.
I’m also a huge Green Bay Packer fan and have been since I was just a kid. Two of my fondest memories have been the Packer Super Bowls of my lifetime.
Golf is something I really enjoy during the Wisconsin summers. I’ve never been the best player, but can get around the course all right. I’m usually around a 10 to 15 handicap depending on how things are going.
Golf is a great way to spend time outdoors. I enjoy hitting the links on great courses here in Wisconsin with friends and family. My one claim to golf fame is having played a round at Pebble Beach.
My Dad gets credit for introducing me to hunting. It was sometime around 1996. My Dad took me out bow hunting with him. The hunt was successful in the fact we got to see some deer. My heart was racing the entire time the deer where around us. From that point on I was hooked and it’s been a hobby for me every fall since. I’ve even gotten lucky once or twice and have taken a couple of nice bucks…well they’re nice in my eyes.
My second blog was actually a blend of two of my passions. The blog was Hunting Business Marketing and all the posts are still available. I look back on it from time to time and still think a few of the posts are pretty good.
Green Bay Packers
In the early ‘90s the Packers were just about the only thing I cared about. I was too young to experience the down years of the ‘70s and ‘80s, but in the ‘90s things were exciting. There have only been a few down years since and the Super Bowls have been a few of the greatest moments of my life. I’ve enjoyed watching the games every Fall with family and friends.
